Rays of Light
Rays of Light is a recently released JY text which address Bahá’í-related subjects.
For nearly two years now, Esperanza has been serving as the animator of a group of eleven youngsters in a vibrant neighborhood of a large city. What is a Junior Youth Group?
The Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Programme is a three-year programme for 12-15 year-olds which fosters a positive transition from childhood to adolescence. Junior youth engage by joining or forming a group, which often comprises 5-10 young people in a given locality, and usually meets at least weekly.
Participants learn to identify the needs of their community and to find ways to respond to them through increasingly complex and meaningful acts of service. They study together a series of modules which can provide them with the elements of a conceptual framework that will guide their choices and actions as they mature into adults. Purposeful social, sport and artistic activities also constitute a key element of the programme. See here for more information.
