‘Abdu’l-Bahá's Little Brown Cat

This is a story for children of all ages in commemoration of the centenary of the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in November 1921.

All people and events in the story are historical, verified with relevant references and sources. It's clear from contemporary records that ‘Abdu’l-Bahá had a brown cat at this time, the only fiction in the story being the suggestion that His cat was often on hand to observe what was taking place. What the cat does and thinks are the only fiction in the story.

About Carolyn Sparey Fox

Carolyn Sparey Fox is a professional musician and author living in Scotland. During her long musical career she has worked extensively in London, where she performed for the first London production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and in Scotland, as principal viola with the Scottish Chamber orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

As an author, Carolyn’s first two books, published by George Ronald, The Half of it was Never Told and Seeking a State of Heaven, focus on the fascinating history of Adventism during the 19th Century, particularly in North America, Britain, and Europe. Carolyn’s inspiration for writing children’s stories was the birth of her granddaughter, and the third of these, ’Abdu’l-Bahá’s Little Brown Cat, was written in commemoration of the centenary of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s passing in November 1921.
